After an Outdoor Advertising License has been issued, the sign owner may apply for a permit from the department. A permit application must be submitted for each sign. Forms are available from the department’s public internet site at www.txdot.gov. No sign may be lawfully erected until a permit has been obtained. A permit will not be issued until it is verified that a license has been obtained and the proposed sign location inspected.
