The purpose of this manual revision is to:
- Remove HSIP work code information from Section 8 of the manual and replace this information with a link to a document on the TxDOT internet where the HSIP work codes can be found. This will make it easier for Traffic Engineering to update work codes by eliminating the need to go through the manual update process.

Aside from the removal of the HSIP Work Codes table from Section 8 of the document, the contents of the Highway Safety Improvement Program Manual have not changed.

The revised Highway Safety Improvement Program Manual supersedes all prior versions of the Highway Safety Improvement Program Manual and the Hazard Elimination Program Manual, which the HSIP manual replaced in June of 2008.
