Technology Transfer is the term used for effective communication of research results to the user community, and is an integral part of implementation activities. The Research and Technology Implementation Division (RTI) assists in technology transfer functions in many ways including but not limited to:

- Creating articles about research or implementation projects for publication both inside and outside of TxDOT, Anchor: #RVELEJQO
- Maintaining and enhancing the TxDOT websites, Anchor: #ECVMOAHS
- Assisting with the creation of formal Division presentations of research results, Anchor: #WNROVXIA
- Overseeing the maintenance of TxDOT’s transportation library, Anchor: #DELOCFSU
- Serving as the clearing house for research related information from federal agencies and other state DOTs, Anchor: #DFUJWWMB
- Maintaining information about TxDOT research activities on TRB’s Research in Progress (RIP) web site, Anchor: #RDMHAKHW
- Funding technology transfer activities, such as video production, editing, printing of documents and other materials, and distribution of deliverables, Anchor: #BKSNBGSG
- Promotion of seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and other opportunities for disseminating research results materials, either in-house or outside of the agency, and Anchor: #YSEMECPH
- Performing or coordinating technology transfer activities and encouraging others in the agency to participate in them. Research funds are often used to fund these activities when they are performed for operating units in the agency.
