Introduction

The purpose of freight planning is to elevate the movement of freight as a critical component of Texas’ multimodal transportation system and to strengthen the economic competitiveness of Texas through local, state, regional and national collaboration, and coordination. The Freight Branch works closely with government entities and private stakeholders to outline strategies to ensure the multimodal freight system can support the continued success of the Texas economy. This work is achieved through interaction with key stakeholders and coordinating highly functioning working groups and committees such as the Texas Freight Advisory Committee (TxFAC).
