The department, in partnership with the Border Trade Advisory Committee (BTAC), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) jointly developed the Texas-Mexico Border Transportation Master Plan (BTMP) in Spring 2021. The BTMP is a comprehensive, multimodal, Texas-Mexico long-range border planning study. It identifies current and future transportation needs, challenges, and opportunities for moving people and goods across the Texas-Mexico border.
