Section 2: Highway Status Updates

When all TRM roadway elements exist on the roadbed, TPP and Districts may update the highway status to a 5 (Open to traffic, district data complete) or 6 (Open to traffic, all data complete):
- For TPP Highway Status updates, valid values are 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. Do not change status to a 6 unless it is currently a 5
- For District Highway Status updates, valid values are 4 and 5. All required elements for the specified roadbed must exist on the roadbed in TRM before updating the Highway Status to 5 or 6.

Emergency Route Closings Status
TxDOT temporarily closes routes to protect the traveling public and provide safety to workers as a result of emergency situations, such as:
- a hazardous chemical spill
- a bridge washed out by flood
- accident damage to a structure.
Any user may enter an Emergency Closing.
